Answer:
The consequences of the partition of India and Pakistan were very severe. Lakhs of people were forced to leave their lands and villages to escape terror, violence and death. Lakhs of people irrespective of their religion lost their lives due to the violence that followed. The then British government wasn't of much help either. They had failed to administer the violence affected regions and people had lost their faith in such a government long ago. The partition had adverse effect on the lives of millions of people. Starvation, spread of diseases and killings were rampant. Thousands of people were killed for crimes they didn't commit.
