The five factors that we could identify for Gandhi's CDM are :

1. Failure of Rowlett Satyagraha due to Jalianwalla Bagh Massacre and it's withdrawl by Gandhi.

2. Gandhi believed that people were now ready for non violent movements and they understand the thought behind satyagraha after the withdrawl of Non Cooperation movement due to Chauri Chora incident.

3. Non Cooperation movement's failure to achieve its main objective that is to attain swaraj within a year.

4. The split in Congress in the Gaya Session in 1922 deformed the social base of nationalist support.

5. The success of Swaraj Party and it joined the INC thus making a huge social support base for the CDM of Gandhi.
