(c) Land development programmes : Provision for crop insurance against drought, flood, cyclone etc., establishment of Grameen banks, Cooperative societies and banks for providing loans.

The five features of a comprehensive land development program are as follows:
1. Agricultural reforms like Green Revolution and White Revolution were implemented. They ensured the usage of good quality seeds and proper irrigation of the crops.
2. Land reforms like consolidation of individual holdings, abolition of the Zamindari system, and collectivization were carried out.
3. Various land development programs were carried out. This included the provision of insurance for the destruction of crops by floods, droughts, cyclones, and so on. Grameen Banks and other cooperative societies were set up to provide loans to the farmers.
