Explain any five key features of Federalism.

(i) Administration of subjects which are of national
importance and require uniformity in administration are given in the hands of the Central Government, while subjects of the local importance or day-to-day administration are given to the states.
(ii) Both these levels of governments enjoy their power independent of each other. Such a system exists in India, USA etc.
(iii) The fundamental provisions of the Constitution cannot be unilaterally changed by one level of government. Such changes require the consent of both the levels of government.
(iv) The federal system has dual objectives—to safeguard and promote unity of the country, while at the same time accommodate regional diversity.
(v) Sources of revenue for each level of government are clearly specified to ensure its financial autonomy.

Five key features of Federalism are:
1.In federalism there are two or more tiers of government that is a country with federal system has central government, state government or local government.

2.There are different terms of governance. Each has its jurisdiction in matters of legislation, taxation and administration, central, regional or local.

3.No fundamental provision of the constitution can be changed at any level arbitrary. Changes required the consent of both the houses.

4.Sources of revenue for each level of government are clearly specified to ensure stability.

5.Fedrelasim promotes unity and regional autonomy within the country.
