According to the variations in relief features, northern plain can be divivided into four region . The river after deposit pebbles in a narrow belt about 8 to 16 km in width lying parallel to the slopes is know as bhabhar.South of this bhabhar belt create wet , swampy and marshy region Kwon as terrai. The largest part of northern plain of older alluvium is known as bhangar.The solil of this region is calcareous locally known as kankar . The newer and younger deposit of flood plain is known as khadar
