1. president appoints the members of election commission, finance commission,etc.

2. Money bills require the approval of president before they are introduced in lok sabha.

3. he/ she can dissolve the lok sabha before expiry of its normal term.
4. 12 members of rajya sabha nominated by the president from most distinguished person in the field of plant science literature social service sports sector
5. all the judges of the supreme court and the high court including their chief justice are appointed by the president.
