1) Books , newspaper and magazines : By the 18th century printing press was in full use in India. Historians can use these books , newspaper and magazines to reconstruct the history of the country during that period of time. Bengal gazete was India's first newspaper published in 1780 from calcutta.

2) Government records : The archival records of the government of british India are available in  the National archives of India at new delhi. Many of the archival documents and manuscripts dealing with british India at the India office records , London.

3) Diaries and accounts of travellers: Many travellers , traders , missionaries and civil servants who came to India in the 18th and the 19th centuries left accounts of their experiences and impressions of the country.

4) Historical structures : Monuments like India gate , rashtrapati bhavan , parliament house ect. Give good insight into the art and architecture of the period.
