The policy has achieved some of its objectives like
1-
The government has made right to education a
fundamental right by article 21A passed by the 86th constitutional
amendment act 2002.
2-
It succeeded in making family planning more
people centric, through the use of “hum do hamare do” campaigns.
3-
Immunization against some diseases like polio
has been achieved making India a polio free nation.
4-
And problems related to girls have also been
taken up through various awareness campaigns.
Even though the NPP has not met all it’s
objectives, it has played a part in sensitizing the public about population
growth and the detrimental effect it has on society if left unchecked.
