(a) The Ganga river is formed by the two rivers:The Baghirathi which rises from Gangotri glacier and the Alaknanda rising from Alkapuri glacier.
(b) They joins at Devprayag.
(c) It is the largest basin in India. The total basin area is about 861404 sq km The Ganga flows
through Uttaranchal Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.
(d) Ganga has formed large meanders, floodplains and ox-bow lakes in its middle course.The Ganga with its tributaries has tremendous potential to generate hyd roelectricty and irrigate lands lt has formed very fertile agricultural plains called the granary of India.
