Explanation: When an individual or an organisation participate in some sort of activity which may mislead the people is referred as an unfair trade practice.  These activities are considered illegal as they lead to ill effects on consumers and the society.

These primary reason for such activity is to both mislead or misinform the consumer of  goods and services.One of the easiest mode of involving into such practice is through  are false advertisement, and tampering with measuring devices.    

Deceptive trade practices can be performed in different manner. Few of them are mentioned below:

1) By misguiding the consumer in regard to the source,approval of good /services or certification of the product and thereby creating an environment of confusion and misunderstanding.

2) By misguiding the consumer with misleading facts and figures of another entity in respect of their goods, services, or business.

3) By misguiding the consumer in respect to the ingredients of the products along with its features,quality,standard ,grade, style, model,usage and benefit which are actually not present.

4) By claiming that the goods are in origin state whereas they are either  used, deteriorated or altered.
