Reducing property is stated as the tendency of an element or compound to reduce another atom.

For example SO2 is a best reducing agent.

It reduces Fe3+ to Fe2+.

A simpler reaction would be between Zn amd CuSO4 .

Here Zn reduces Cu2+ ion to Cu.

The reaction being

Zn + CuSO4 --------> ZnSO4 + Cu
