The three characteristics of tropical evergreen forests are :
1.Only found in the rainy parts of India i.e the Western Ghats and the island groups of Lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
2.Ebony,mahogany and rosewood are some of the commercially important trees of this forests. These forests have a unique characteristic -a large number of species are found together. This pose a problem as no particular variety can be targeted for commercial use.
3.The common animals found in these forests are elephants, monkeys,a great variety of birds, lemurs, bats, sloths, reptiles, deers, scorpions, snails and one-horned rhinoceros (found in the jungles of Assam and West Bengal)
