There are 6 basic fundamental rights in our constitution.
They are as follows :-
- Right to Equality : It means that everyone is equal before the law. All persons shall be treated equally and will not be discriminated against on the basis of religious, caste, sex, or race. It also states that untouchability has been abolished.
- Right to Freedom : It means that everyone has the right to freedom of speech and expression, the right to practice any profession, right to move freely and reside in any part of the country.
- Right against exploitation : The constitution prohibits human trafficking, forced labour and employment of children under the age of 14 years.
- Right to Freedom of Religion : It states that everyone has the right to follow any religion of their choice.
- Cultural and Educational right : It states that all the religious, linguistic groups and minorities has the right to set up their own educational institutions in order to preserve their own culture.
- Right to Constitutional Remedies : This allows all the people to move to the court if they feel any of their Fundamental Rights has been violated.
