STEPS TAKEN BY THE GOVERNMENT UNDER "SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN"

1. EASY ACCESS TO EDUCATION: This programme has tried to open schools in locations that lack exposure and in such habitations that do not have schooling facilities to make education and schooling easily accessible to children who live in backward areas. Launched an initiative called Padhe Bharat, Badhe Bharat.
2. ENHANCE EXISTING FACILITIES: Under this programme government has done a lot of work to strengthen the infrastructure of already existing schools and make children available with basic facilities like washrooms, Mid-day meals and many other like smart classes.
3. Swachh Vidyayalya: This programme was launched under the same Abhiyan to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in schools and areas around. The main aim of the programme was to ensure safe and hygienic surroundings for children.
