a)The french began building, canals  and draining lands in the Mekong Delta to increase cultivation .
b)As a result of the irrigation works ,the rice of production increased . The Vietnam became the third largest exporter of rice in the world
c).Trans Indo- china rail network was constructed . It linked the northern and southern parts of Vietnam and china
d).Another line linking Vietnam to Siam (Thailand), via the Cambodian capital phnom penh was also built.
e)To ensure higher level profits , french pressurized the govt to develop infrastructure.
