To meet the increasing demands of water ,
following three practices are done in India :
° Rainwater Harvesting System :
The Rainwater Harvesting System is practiced in the part of Arid or Semi - Arid parts of India like the Rajasthan and Gujarat . This technique includes the Tanks or Tankas that are placed at the basement of house.
In the drying Summer this is proved helpful to beat the heat .
° Bamboo Drip Irrigation technique :
This technique is mostly used in the parts of northeastern India to meet the demands of water supply.
° Guls and the Kuls :
In the hilly and mountanious regions ,people build diversion channels like in Western Himalayas for agriculture. These channels are called Guls or the Kuls.
