Evidences for Evolution....

(1) Homologous organs provide evidence for that..

Organs having same basic structure but different functions .Ex... forelimbs of Frog, man etc.

(2) Analogous organs...

having different basic structure but similar function..Ex.. wings of bat and insect.

(3)Fossils..

Dead remains of animals live in remote past.. ex.. Archaopteryx, Ammonite,Trilobite,dinosaur..

Thanks

hope it helps you

EVIDENCES OF EVOLUTION:

1. HOMOLOGOUS ORGANS:-

  • Same basic structure and origin but different functions.
  • EXAMPLE:-
  1. Forelimbs of man, horse
  2. Forelimbs of man, birds
  3. Tendrils of cucurbita, Thorns of bougainvilla

2. ANALOGOUS ORGANS:-

  • Different basic structure and origin but same functions.
  • EXAMPLES:-
  1. Wings of bird, bat
  2. Wings of birds, Insects
  3. Sweet potato, potato

3. FOSSILS:-

  • Remains or impressions of extinct plant and animals which lived in the past.
  • PALAENTOLOGY - Study of fossils
  • Age of Fossils
  1. Relative method⇒DIG THE EARTH:- If in surface it is formed recently. But if it is deeper then it is older.
  2. Carbon dating⇒Accurate method⇒By using radio active isotopes of carbon, Fossils ages are detected.
