There are two types of animal manure which are farmyard manure or farm slurry. Farmyard manure consists of plants materials as bedding for animals which has absorbed faeces and urine. In slurry, instead of bedding concrete or slats are used.

• Manure is an organic matter which is obtained from dead plants and animals wastes. The main role of manure is to increase the fertility of soil.

• There are two types of manure:

• Green Manure
• Animal Manure
• Green manure is obatined from the crops such as fenugreek,legumes or rye grass which is ploughed into the soil. It helps to improve the fertility of the soil.
• Animal manure is made up of animal wastes.
• When the decomposition of dead plants and animals waste takes place, it helps to form the manure which is known as Compost.
• When all the organic material is buried in a pit and an alternate layer of soil is placed on it. Then it is left to rot. Bacteria and other microorganism which are present in the soil helps in decomposition of waste.
