part-xx Article 368 (1) of theConstitution of India grants constituent power to make formalamendments and empowers Parliament to amend the Constitutionby way of addition, variation or repeal of any provision according to theprocedure laid down therein, which is different from the procedure for ordinary legislation.

1. By simple majority : By simple majority means the bill should be approved by a majority of the members present and voting in both the houses of the parliament
2.By special majority :The amendment bill shall have to be approved by both the houses of parliament by 1) absolute majority of total membership and 2)two-third majority n members present and voting
