Two ways in whlch non-blodegradable substances would affect the environment are:
(i) Some of the non-biodegradable wastes (pesticides and heavy metals) convert the land into barren land and enter the food chain thus, effecting human beings and other biotic components of the environment.
(ii) Pesticides and other chemicals enter water and food chains. They affect the fertility of soil and harm all kind of living organisms. Human beings are harmed the most because they are at the top of the food chain.

HI friend ,
1. It may enter the food chain of humans which get concentrated in humans and damage their health in the long run . Eg- pesticides such as DDT and metals like mercury.
2.The excessive use of non biodegradable fertilisers in agriculture makes the soil either too much acidic or too much alkaline damaging crop yield
--hope this helps you (plz mark as brainliest if it does !)
