There are totally three ways in which IP addresses are allocated by DHCP servers. Two of them are given below:
Automatic allocation - In this type of allocation, the IP address that is assigned to a client is permanent and will never change.
Dynamic allocation – In this type of allocation, the IP address is assigned to the client only for a specified time period. Only this allocation permits the reuse of an IP address after the client that it was assigned to has no use for it.
