From the root hair cells, water again moves by osmosis down a waterpotential gradient toward the xylem, and can take one of three paths -apoplast, symplast, or vacuolar. ... The vacoular pathway moves molecules through the vacuoles only of the plant.

➡️Apoplast pathway of water movement:

•it consist of non living parts of plant body that is cell walls and intercellular spaces.
•There is little resistance in the movement of water.
•it is faster.
•metabolic state of root doesn't affect apoplast pathway.
