Aquatic animals are cold-blooded. This means that unlike us, who are warm blooded animals, the body temperature of aquatic animals is determined and dominated by the external temperature.

Thus, this regulates the body warmth and keeps them alive at below 0°C

They have thick fat under skin which helps them to protect from cold weather.

They have thick skin which insulates it's body from heat
