solid:- i.solid have definite mass, shape and volume.
ii intermolecular distances are short.
iii. intermolecular forces are strong.
iv. their constituent particles (atoms, molecules or ions) have fixed positions and can only oscillate about their mean positions.
v. they are incompressible and rigid.
vi. molecules, atoms and ions are closely or tightly packed.
Liquid:-i. there is enough intermolecular bonding to give liquids a definite volume.
ii. Liquids are fluid, able to flow and take any shape.
iii.Liquids differ from solids because their particles are not fixed and rigid and can move freely past each other.
iv.Because liquids contains particles that can spread out and change shape depending on the container, they resemble gases.
