             Asexual reproduction

Asexual reproduction is the mode of reproduction except the production of the gametes or without being involved sexually. In this kind of reproduction only parent is involved unlike the sexual reproduction.

In asexual reproduction_

  • The offspring is identical to the parent.
  • The offspring acquires all the similar properties as that of the parent.
  • There is no variation in the characteristics of the offspring other than the parent.
  • There is no variation in the genetic material.

This kind of reproduction is generally found in lower categories of animals such as, budding in yeast, binary fission of amoeba and in some others unicellular organisms.

In this kind of reproduction the nuclear material of the parent cell grows and by increasing in size divides into two nuclei and thereafter the cytoplasm too gets separated with an individual nucleus. Hence, from one cell two daughter cells are formed.
