A road safety patrol unit was inaugurated at the St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School in the city on Tuesday. This is the 14th Road Safety Patrol being set up by the police in education institutions in the city.
A. Amalraj, City Police Commissioner, inaugurated the unit and gave away reflective jackets, caps, and badges to all the 50 volunteers of the new unit.
Mr. Amalraj stressed the importance of strictly adhering to road rules. Quoting accident figures of the last nine months, he said that a majority of them occurred due to the failure of the vehicle-users to follow traffic rules.
