Explain binary fission in amoeba.

Amoeba is a unicellular organism, and just like bacteria, it reproduces through binary fission. After replicating its genetic material through mitotic division, the cell divides into two equal-sized daughter cells. In this method, two similar individuals are produced from a single parent cell.

Binary fission in amoeba :-

  • This microorganism is called amoeba it lives in fresh water. It's body is made up of single cell and hence is called a unicellular organism.

  • After the nucleus gets matured it's starts dividing. After the complete division of the nucleus the body of amoeba divides into two daughter amoeba.

  • Thus, The parent amoeba is no more existing. This type of asexual reproduction through which an organism reproduces by dividing into individual is called binary fission.
