Binomial nomenclature is the process of naming an organism. It includes naming the organism with two names. One is genus, the other is species E.g: Mangifera indica (mango)

2. The first one is generic name and second one is specific name.

  • The generic name starts with a capital letter.
  • The specific name starts with a small letter.
  • Name of the author may be written at the end.

  • In this, Solanum is the name of the genus and melongena is the name of its species.
