The civil right movement was started in the USA in 1954 and lasted till 1968. it referred to a set of events and Reform movements aimed at abolishing Legal racial discrimination against African - American. this movement was led by Martin Luther King Junior . it practiced non-violent methods of civil disobedience against racism. on the other hand , the black power movement emerged in 1966 and lasted till 1975.
the main difference between this movement and the civil rights movement was that it was a more militant and anti -racist movement .this advocated even violence when it was necessary to end racism in USA.
