The placenta is an organ that develops in the uterus during pregnancy. This structure provides oxygen and nutrients to growing baby and removes waste products from the baby's blood.

Implantation is the stage of pregnancy at which the embryo receives oxygen and nutrients from the mother to be able to grow.

Implantation - The term "implantation" is used to describe process of attachment and invasion of the uterus endometrium by the blastocyst (conceptus) in placental animals.

Placenta-The placenta is a temporary organ that connects the developing fetus via the umbilical cord to the uterine wall to allow nutrient uptake, thermo-regulation, waste elimination, and gas exchange via the mother's blood supply; to fight against internal infection; and to produce hormones which support pregnancy.
