Explain briefly about latitudes and longitudes?

Cartographer and geohraphers divide the earth into latitudes and longitudes in order to locate the places. Longitudes are the vertical imaginary lines which connects frm north pole to south pole,half of the longitudinal circle is known as meridian,meridians are perpendicular to every latitude,0 degrees longitude is known as prime meridian. Latitude are the imaginary horizontal lines on the globe,the 0degrees latitude is known as equator.
