Hey Friend,

*The events of 1919, like the Khilafat Wrong, passing of Rowlatt Act and the Jallianwala Bag tragedy greatly hurt Gandhiji.

*Therefore, he decided to start the Non-Cooperation Movement.

*It was a way of protesting in which one would not cooperate with the evil doer (British)

*He asked people to not to cooperate with the British. For this, he used the boycott and swadeshi programs.

*His aim was to attain self government within the British empire, annulment of Rowlatt Act, remedying the Khilafat and Pubjab wrongs.

Hope it helps!

non cooperation movement was due to three causes khilafat movement , rowlatt act n jalianwala Bagh.
khilafat movement was lead by muslim leaders. it was observed that in the 2nd world war british defeated turkey whoes head was a caliph hence the indian muslims had a feeling that the british had grudge towards them n started this movement.
rowlatt act implied the arrest of indians wdout warrant, restrictions on he movement of indians.etc.
jalianwala Bagh , a large but innocent crowd were killed . the conscience of the nation was shaken at the massacre of innocent people . the british government refused to annual the rowlatt act n make amends for atrocities in punjab.

these led to the beginning of non cooperation movement
