India is a federal country, and the Constitution gives the States and Union Territories significant control over their own government. The Vidhan Sabhas (legislative assemblies) are directly elected bodies set up to carry out the administration of the government in the 29 states of India.

Answer

Election system is held after every five years for any administrative post like president , prime minister etc . In it the people who are above age of 18 ( Universal Adult Franchise ) have right to vote and select their leaders . The first person who gets most of the votes is ruling party and appointed for that particular post and the second person who gets more votes becomes the opposition . Work of opposition is to question working of ruling party about their work held for public interest
