FBD means free body diagram for any object drawn or surface. We know that a stationary body has many forces acting on it. So to study these forces scientists thought to have free body diagram like structures to easily locate forces acting on an object.

When a mass of 10kg is kept on earth's surface two domain forces come into existence..1) Its own weight 2) Normal reaction

The mass of body pushes the body down to earth. But the surface of the earth comes in between to oppose the pushing force of that body of 10 N . So the surface of earth reacts against this pushed force called reaction. As this is perpendicular to surface of contact between body and surface it is called Normal reaction.

Whenever a body is in motion an opposing force acts in direction opposite to direction of motion which is called frictional force or friction.

This way FBD of an object can be drawn.

Hope it helps!
