Arithmetic progression means number at each step is being added.

Example - 1,2,3,4,5.....

Geometric progression means number at each step is being multiplied.

Example - 1,2,4,8,16,32........

ARITHMETIC GROWTH :

It is the type of growth in which the rate of growth is constant and increases in arithmetic progression I.e. ,2,4,6,8 etc. Here after mitosis, only one daughter cell continues to divide and other take part in differentiation and maturation.

GEOMETRIC GROWTH :

Here every cell divide and the daughter cell grow and divide. The grand daughter repeat the process and so on. Initial growth is slow as well as small in size . Later on, there is rapid growth and at exponential rate . It is called log or exponential growth.
