Magnification (increase in concentration) of Non Biodegradable substances in the body of organism is called Biological magnification.

If particular Non Biodegradable substance enter in Food Chain and then it become a serious problem and magnification of that substance will be highest in higher trophic level.

For eg.:−

Biomagnification of DDT (insecticide) highest in fish eating bird like pelican through aquatic food chain that care the reduction in their offspring.If it is not controlled then in future pelican or other fish eating bird will be extinct.
