We know that when heat is supplied to anything its kinetic energy increases... so keeping this concept in mind when something in solid state is heated the kinetic energy possessed by the molecules increase and they start vibrating and after some time they break apart and convert into liquid form...
same happens when a liquid is heated... the molecules gain enough kinetic energy and leave the surface of the liquid becoming a gas
