MECHANISM OF BREATHING CYCLE IN HUMAN BEINGS:

●Inhalation

INHALATION

☆Inhalation is the process of intake of the air through the nostrils.

☆As a result,

• The ribcage is lifted upward.

• Themail volume of chest cavity increases.

• The diaphragm gets flattened.

EXCHANGE OF GAS AS

☆As we inhale the the alveoli (balloon shaped structures) are fully filled with air.

☆The alveoli are surrounded by blood capillaries which brings carbondioxide from the rest of the body and at the alveoli is the site of exchange of gases.

☆The oxygen from alveoli diffuses to the capilla results. And the carbondioxide gas from the capillaries is diffused to the alveoli

☆Hence exchange ofor gases takes place.

EXHALATION

☆As a result the carbondioxide is released out of our body.

☆As a result,

• The chest cavity decreases

• The ribcage moves down

• The diaphragm sits like dome like structure
