Dr. Alexamder Grahambell was a great scientist, inventor, mentor, and poet. Helen Keller held his hand in high esteem. When Helen was 6 years old, her parents took her to Dr. Bell for an advice on how to go about her teaching. Dr. Bell adviced them to contact the Perkins institution for blind and later on they got Miss Ann Sullivan who was alife long teacher, friend and philosopher for Helen. Dr. Bell was very helpful, generous and had a great love for deaf children. His work for the deaf children led him to the discovery of telephone. He was deeply commited to the education of the hearing impaired. Helen spent many delightful hours in Dr. Bell's lab. During the summer of 1893, Miss Sullivan and Helen visited the World Fair with Dr. Bell. He went everywhere with them and descrbed the different electrical articles in the fair. Dr. Bell was not only proficient in science, but presented difficult theories in a very simple language. He was the person who brought light in Helen's life by removing her darkness and constanly supporting her.
