Sodium Chloride(NaCl) is also known as Table salt.NaCl is formed by Ionic Bonding. Na has 1 electron in its valence shell and Chlorine has 7 electrons in its valence shell.Na needs to loose one electron to complete its valence shell and Cl needs to add up one electron to complete its valence shell.Na looses one lectron and form Na+ ion and Cl gains that electron that Na looses and forms Cl- ion. Both the ions have opposite charge and opposite charges attract,so force of attraction will form between the two ions and NaCl molecule is formed

Sodium chloride is formed when sodium atom interact with chlorine atom when it occurs sodium will donate ann electron negatively charged to chlorine sodium will become positive in this way sodium ion will attract chlorine ion and forms ionic bond.
