the velocity of a body at any instant is known as instantaneous velocity. we can identify by assuming that mr X was going by feet to his office but after 30 seconds dogs started chasing him so started running at speed of 10 m/s . so the speed of mrX at the instant when dogs chased him is his instantaneous velocity i.e. 10m/s

Instastaneous velocity is the velocity of an object in motion at a specufic point in time.It is similar to average velocitybut we reduce the period of time so that it reaches to zero.If an object has a standard velocity over a period of time its average and instastaneous velocity is same.
Its formula is
v=ds÷dt
