explain by iron is corroded but gold does not​

Answer:

This is because in reactivity series table, Fe(iron) comes above au(gold). Which means that iron is much more reactive than gold. During corrosion, metals react and form it's oxides. Since Fe reacts with moisture present in air therefore it forms fe2o3 which is rust, whereas gold do not do it.
