explain carbon and its compounds
Answers
Answer:
Carbon form large number of compounds due to the following properties: ... (b) Tetravalency → Carbon has valency 4, it is capable of bonding with 4 other carbon atoms or atoms of other non-covalent elements, giving rise to compounds with specific properties depending on the elements present in the compound.
It's an lesson explaining about carbon and it's compound.
Carbon forms covalent bonds
Due to its tetra valency carbon forms a large number of compounds.we also need to learn the bond formation.Compound btw carbon and hydrogen is known as hydrocarbon. There are 3 types of hydrocarbons. They are:
1)Alkanes(General formula CnH2n+2)
2)Alkenes(General Formula CnH2n)
3)Alkynes(General Formula
CnH2n-2)
Hope it helps
