Elections in china are based on a hierarchical electoral system, whereby local People's Congresses are directly elected. All higher levels of People's Congresses up to the National People's Congress (NPC), the national legislature, are indirectly elected by the People's Congress of the level immediately below.[1] The NPC Standing Committee may partially alter laws passed by the NPC when the NPC is not in session, which is significant since the Standing Committee meets more frequently than the NPC. When ever we talk about the election in our mind only some questions come one of them is : How Do Elections in China Work? The answer is Chinese voters can elect deputies to the primary people’s congresses, and the people’s congresses can elect their heads at the same level and deputies to people’s congresses at the next higher level, while the President of the State is elected by the National People’s Congress (NPC). Any citizen of China who has reached the age of 18 shall have the right to vote and the right to stand for election, regardless of their identities, unless he/she has been sentenced to the deprivation of political rights by the court.
