What is Cell?
Cell is the smallest and basic structural and functional unit of every organism.
Types of Cell:
1.Eukaryotic cell:
They contain membrane bound organelles and a well-defined nucleus.
2.Prokaryotic cell:
They do not contain membrane bound organelles and doesn't have a well-defined nucleus.
Common Prokrayotic Cell Shapes:
1.Round-Coccus
2.Rod-Bacillus
3.Curved rod-Vibrio
4.Short rod-Coccobacillus
5.Spiral-Spirillum

Different shapes of cells are often related to the different functions they perform.
- Human red blood cells are circular and biconcave, for easy passage through blood capillaries and to transport oxygen.
- White blood cells are amoebic (amoeba - like movement, with pseudopodia) that can squeeze out through capillary walls.
- Nerve cells are long to conduct "impulse" from distant parts of the body to the brain and vice-versa.
- Guard cells of stomatal pore in the leaves are been-shaped to open and close it.
