it is a type of coordination in which group of cells secrete specific chemicals which regulate the activities of other cells of the body. In vertebrates the chemical coordination is brought about by endocrine glands which secrete hormones.

ENDOCRINE GLANDS

these are ductless glands which directly pour their secretions in the bloodand their secretions are called hormones.

PITUITARY GLAND

it is called master gland and it secretes a number of hormones .

#somatotropin or growth hormone ------》cause enlargement of bones for the growth of the body.

#thyroid stimulating hormone----》it stimulate thyroid gland to secrete its hormones.

#adeno corticotropin hormone----》it stimulate the activity of adrenal gland.

THYROID GLAND

it control the metabolic activities in the cells that release energy from nutrients .

in children thyroid hormone are also essential for normal physical growth and mental development.

PARATHYROID GLANDS

there glands secretes parathyroid hormones which helps control the level of calcium in the blood.

PANCREAS

it's important hormones are insulin and glucagon which maintain the level of glucose in blood.

ADRENAL GLANDS

it secrete corticosteroid hormones that have important effects in the metabolism of the body.

it also secretes adrenaline or emergency hormone which prepare body to face a situation of emergency.

GONADS

GONADS i.e testes and ovaries are important part of reproductive system.both produce certain hormones to the formation of gametes.

testes ----》secrete male hormone androgens which is responsible for the development of secondary sexual characteristics.

ovaries-----》 they secrete oestrogen and progesterone which is responsible for the development of secondary sexual characteristics. and maintenance pregnancy respectively.
