Explain chemical equation
Answers
Explanation:
Chemical equation :
A chemical equation is the symbolic representation of a chemical reaction in the form of symbols and formulae, wherein the reactant entities are given on the left-hand side and the product entities on the right-hand side.
A symbol represents an atom of an element and a formula represents a molecule of a substance .The expression of the process of chemical reaction using molecular formula is Known as chemical equation.
For example :- When Potassium chlorate is heated , potassium chloride and oxygen gas are produced this reaction is expressed in words in the following way:-
potassium chlorate → potassium chloride + oxygen↑
In chemistry, we can express it in the following ways:-
KClO3 → KCl + O2 ↑
.✦ Rules to write chemical Equation :-
☛ The reactants which participate in the reaction, are written on the left side of the arrow mark (→).
☛ The products formed after the chemical reaction are placed on the right side of the arrow mark(→).
☛If the number of the reactants and products is more than one both side of the arrow mark (→) then the plus sign (+) is used in between.
☛Arrow mark (→) denotes that reactants react to yield the product .sometimes in place of arrow mark (→) the equality sign (=) is also used .But now a days only arrows (→) are used.
