In chloroalkali process, electrolysis of brine (solution of NaCl) is conducted.
In this process, Chlorine gas is deposited at the anode while Sodium hydroxide (Caustic Soda) is produced at the cathode.
It is called chloro alkali process as it produces chlorine (chloro) and an alkali (NaOH).
