In optics, chromatic aberration abbreviated CA; also called chromatic distortion and spherochromatism is a failure of a lens to focus all colors to the same point. It is caused by dispersion: the refractive index of the lens elements varies with the wavelength of light.

Explain chromatic aberration of eye.

chromatic aberration:- since the refractive index

different for different colours, focal length becomes different. the defect due to variation of refractive index, are called chromatic aberration and the process of removal of chromatic aberration is called achromatic. in this process, two lenses are placed in contact of different focal length and of different nature.
