In 1951 britishers applied very high tax on salt for Indians and only britishers can make the salt, salt is a basic need that's why Indians have to give tax but Indians can't able to afford it that's why Gandhi decided to call civil disobedience movement also known as salt movement in this Gandhi marched from dandi to sabarmati aashram at a distance of 400 km when he reached there he picked up the handful of salt and broke the salt law.

as people began to defy the government law everywhere it were the British and they began to arest freedom fighters and Congress worker Khan Abdul ghaffar Khan was arrested and with led the mass demonstration in pheshwar
